System Requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- 64-bit system
- Microphone access enabled
- Internet connection for the online installer model download
- .NET is bundled with the published app build used by the installer
Installation
- Open the Releases page.
- Select the newest version.
- Download the Windows installer.
- Run the installer and complete setup.
- Launch PrimeDictate when installation finishes.
First-Time Setup
On first launch, PrimeDictate walks you through the basic setup experience, including:
- Your dictation hotkey
- Tray behavior
- Model location or download path
- Silence auto-commit delay
- Overlay placement
- Optional coding mode behavior
After setup, PrimeDictate runs from the system tray.
How It Works
PrimeDictate is designed for fast desktop dictation:
- Press your configured hotkey to start recording.
- Speak normally.
- Watch the live transcript preview in the overlay.
- Pause speaking or press the hotkey again to finish.
- PrimeDictate transcribes the final result and types it into the currently focused app.
